At Peoria Area Food Pantry, our mission is to alleviate hunger in Peoria County. We strive to provide nutritious food options to those in need, ensuring that everyone has access to the essentials.

How Our Pantry Works

Step 1 Receive a Number in Line

Step 2 Wait in Your Car, if waiting room is full

Step 2 Wait in Your Car, if waiting room is full

Pantry distribution is on Wednesdays from 9 am until 11 am and from 3 pm until 6 pm.

A person can come to either session, but not both, and may come every week.

Upon entering the food pantry you will be asked information to record your visit, and you will be given a number in line.

We have a small waiting room. When it is full you will be asked if you have driven to the food pantry and if you have a cell phone on you.  If you answer yes to both questions, you will be asked for your cell phone number and asked to wait in your car. You will be sent a text when your number is next in line.

If you have walked or taken the bus to the pantry, or if you do not have a cell phone on you, you may wait in the lobby until your number is called.

Step 3 Start Shopping

Once your number is called or texted, return the number to the person who recorded your visit or a volunteer, and you will be given a cart to start shopping in the pantry.

PLEASE REMAIN ON THE PREMISES UNTIL YOUR NUMBER IS CALLED. If you leave and come back, and your number has already been called, you have to get a new number at the end of the line.

Proxy for Homebound

Step 2 Wait in Your Car, if waiting room is full

Step 3 Start Shopping

A person may pick up for ONE other person who is homebound. Have a copy or a picture of the homebound person's ID and staff will instruct you on what else is needed.

This may also be done for people who work during pantry hours and have asked someone else to pick up food for them.

Emergency Food Boxes

Available outside of pantry distribution hours

WE ARE TEMPORARILY OUT OF EMERGENCY FOOD BOXES.

Emergency food boxes are available for pickup on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays if you have not already received one the previous week and/or were not able to come to the pantry on Wednesday.

No services are available on Fridays.
